Fates and Furies
By Lauren Groff
After I finished Fates and Furies I felt as if there were more to read about Lancelot and Mathilde Satterwhite. As if there existed in some library a biography of the great playwright, Lotto Satterwhite and his dragon wife, Mathilde. Both of them were so vibrant that it seemed they were flesh and blood instead of ink and paper. Lauren Groff's writing has reached its peak in this one. I had always thought her an intriguing author but she made her stance as an important writer here. The words jump off each page and clatter around in your brain with such an intensity. If you weren't familiar with Groff before you will soon hear her name everywhere.
